THIS MODEL OF THE NORTHROP SNARK, airbreathing intercontinental weapon, was tested in the Arnold Engineering Development Center's (AEDC) 16-foot transonic wind tunnel. The Snark entered service with the Strategic Air Command in 1958. With the advent of the ballistic missile in the early 1960s, it became obsolete and was removed from service.
