MODEL OF THE F-105 THUNDERCHIEF is ready for test with store (bomb, missile or fuel tank). Aircraft model is upside down for ease of handling in the four-foot transonic tunnel and the store model is held on a second support connected to a computer. Instrumentation in the store support measure aerodynamic forces acting on the model, predicts a subsequent point on the trajectory and commands the drive system to place the store model in that position.
