AIR-LAUNCHED MICROFIGHTER - Wind tunnel tests to accumulate design data on a miniature fighter aircraft capable of air launch and recovery were completed at the Arnold Engineering Development Center in 1973-74. Models employed in the tests are modular in construction, permitting wings, control surfaces, canards and other portions to be interchanged. In the study, done in the center's transonic anad supersonic wind tunnels, data was obtained at simulated flight speeds ranging from one-half to 1.3 times the speed of sound (Mach 0.5 to 1.3) at a variety of angles of attack.
